WHAT WE DO

Engineering - it's in our name. While others claim to do it all, we focus on doing what we are good at and that's helping you by designing, building, testing, and maintaining the best network possible. Our team is trained and certified on all major DAS OEMs, software, and test equipment. We have the tools and resources all in-house to get the job done!

SYSTEM DESIGN

A properly designed system will not only meet the technical objectives but also eliminate unwanted costs due to additional components and material that are unnecessary. The design engineer should be certified in industry tools (iBwave, Ekahau) to produce effective and meaningful designs.

PUBLIC SAFETY TESTING

Having adequate signal inside a building can be a matter of life and death for First Responders. National Fire Protection Act (NFPA) and International Fire Code (IFC) dictate the requirements to ensure reliable communications. A systematic process to test the building with real-time measurements will determine if a building is in compliance. Brisk provides spot and grid testing of VHF, UHF, and P25 systems with full reporting of compliance criteria.

CW TESTING

CW testing is critical to design validation. These tests are performed to characterize the propagation and fading effects of the RF radiating from an antenna at a particular location. The objective is to optimize the prediction model for accurate simulations. They can also identify potential issues not visible on floor plans. This testing also verifies RF paths and proper cabling to ensure uplink and downlink connections.

BENCHMARK TESTING

Benchmark testing prior to the implementation of a network provides a baseline of existing Quality of Service (QoS) in a venue. It is performed to identify areas of poor or no service as well as areas of potential interference from existing sites. This information is valuable to the design engineer in that one can create a design that meets the RF and budget constraints of the customer. Benchmark testing is also performed after the network has been installed, tested, and commissioned to validate the design targets.

COMMISSIONING & INTEGRATION

After the network has been installed and tested for RF continuity, it has to be calibrated to the customer's RF input. This can be a challenging task if the input levels are set incorrectly resulting in sub-optimal performance. Moreover, most network support multiple carriers and the aggregate power is shared according to a specific ratio. Brisk engineers are trained and certified on most DAS OEMs and have practical field experience with others. Our team has commissioned numerous networks in venues including malls, casinos, stadiums, arenas, hotels, convention centers, and airports.

OPTIMIZATION

To maximize the benefits the network, it needs to be tuned for optimal performance. There are many variables along the RF path from the BTS to the antenna that may impact performance. The objective is to systematically identify, eliminate and correct those variables that negatively impact the network's performance. Brisk has assisted with the optimization of networks by providing on-site, real-time network data collection and post-processing to identify network performance issues. It is an iterative process that requires field experience and quick turnaround.

SWEEP & PIM TESTING

The quality of any network begins with how well it is installed and that relies on the experience and workmanship of the technicians and installers. Brisk engineers are trained and certified in cable terminations and remote unit (RU) & head-end installations. Return Loss and DTF are the basic tests that need to be performed to verify the integrity of a cable. Passive Intermodulation (PIM) has become a significant factor in network performance. In many cases, PIM not only reduces the network performance but can also severely degrade a network's capacity. Brisk engineers are trained, certified, and equipped to perform PIM testing.

MONITORING & MAINTENANCE

For networks to operate at its peak performance and meet SLA requirements, they must be monitored & maintained regularly and be corrected by engineers that are skilled and equipped with the proper tools and instruments.
